What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are custom restorations placed on the front side of teeth to improve shape, symmetry, and brightness. Each veneer is individually crafted to fit your tooth shape and color, ensuring it blends naturally with the surrounding teeth. 

Veneers improve the look of worn enamel, uneven edges, irregularly shaped teeth, or discoloration that cannot be corrected with teeth whitening alone. When bonded securely to the tooth enamel, veneers offer strength, aesthetics, and long-lasting color stability.

Types of Dental Veneers We Offer

Both locations offer two veneer options to fit your treatment plan and cosmetic goals. Each option is designed to improve smile imperfections while maintaining the health of your natural tooth enamel.

Composite Resin Veneers

Composite veneers are made from high-quality composite resin that is shaped and bonded directly to your teeth. This option is ideal for patients who want a cost-effective solution that still delivers a natural appearance. Composite veneers can be completed in fewer visits and are often recommended for minor chips, slight misalignment, or small spaces and gaps.

Although composite resin is durable and matches the color of your natural teeth, it may not be as stain resistant as ceramic materials. Your dentist will help determine whether this option aligns with your cosmetic goals and long-term oral health.

Ceramic Veneers

Ceramic veneers are crafted in a trusted dental lab using high-quality tooth-colored materials designed to provide natural translucency, long-term durability, and excellent stain resistance. They offer a highly lifelike appearance and are ideal for improving more noticeable smile imperfections, such as misaligned teeth, irregularly shaped teeth, or deeper discoloration.

Dental Veneers vs. Dental Crowns

While both veneers and dental crowns improve the appearance of your smile, they serve different purposes:

• Veneers cover only the front surface of the tooth and are designed for cosmetic improvements such as discoloration, uneven edges, or irregular shapes.
• Dental crowns cover the entire tooth and are recommended when a tooth needs structural support due to decay, cracks, large fillings, or previous damage.

Veneers are best for a complete smile makeover or when several teeth need cosmetic improvement. Dental crowns can enhance the appearance of a single tooth, but they are not recommended as a solution for multiple teeth.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your veneer process is designed to be comfortable and tailored to your needs.

1. Consultation and planning: We begin by taking digital scans, photos, and X-rays to evaluate your oral health and outline your treatment plan. This information is sent to the dental lab to design a mock-up that previews how your new smile will look.
2. Tooth preparation: At your next visit, the teeth are gently prepared so the veneers fit naturally and securely. Final scans or impressions are taken and sent to the lab, and temporary veneers are placed. These temporaries help you get a sense of the shape and feel of the final design, and they also protect the prepared teeth.
3. Final placement: Once the lab has completed your custom veneers, the temporaries are removed and the final veneers are tried in. We check the shade, fit, and bite carefully to ensure everything matches the design we approved with the lab. When you are happy with the result, each veneer is bonded to the tooth and polished for a smooth, natural finish.

To protect your veneers:
